This is the second novel in the Amanda Pennyworth mystery series, set in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My detective is the American Consul General in that vacation resort. Once again, she finds herself caught up in a complicated murder--this time, a young American man, brutally killed in a gay sauna. Battling the boy's angry parents, and the cynical American Ambassador to Mexico, she refuses to believe that the Mexican police have arrested the real killer. She persists, putting her reputation, job, and life on the line.
